The MLC was established in the
Department of Mathematics during the fall semester of the 1982-83
academic year. The initial operations of the MLC are supported by grants
to the university from the Burroughs-Wellcome Company and the Kenan
Charitable Trust Fund. Located on the third floor of the
Science Complex, the computer labs (3226 & 3236) and the MLC (3238) provide services in the following areas.
- General tutoring and assistance in
computer science & mathematics courses.
- Use of reference materials
(textbooks, journals, standard exam practices, etc.).
- View lecture video tapes for most of
the mathematics and probability and statistics courses.
- Computer labs for computer science
students.
- Computer labs for some mathematics
courses that have computer component in their instructions.

instructor's discussion and explanations of complicated materials
with increased comprehension.
